Food Service
|
Food Service at New College is managed by Sodexho Education Services
under the direction of the Office of Residential Life.
The Food Service Advisory Committee, appointed each year by the New College Student Alliance, works collaboratively with staff to inform policy decisions and ensure quality of products and services. All New College students, including those who live off campus, must participate in the Meal Plan; your level of participation varies according to where you live. Students interested in serving on the Food Service Committee should contact the Office of Residential Life or the NCSA. This Week's Menu

This Week at the Cafe
Feature Entrees for 11/14 through 11/22 (more...) The Meal PlanThe Meal Plan provides for a substantial portion of your dining needs
but is not intended to provide three meals a day, seven days a week.
Students select a meal plan and sign a Food Service Contract at the
beginning of each academic year; students use their purchasing power in
the manner best suited to their particular needs. Students selecting
the Standard Plan purchase the equivalent of about $8.00 buying power
per day; those purchasing the Alternate Plan have a little over $7.00
buying power per day. Students may add buying power at any time in
increments of $50.00 (plus tax) and may upgrade to a higher plan at any time.
In accordance with student wishes, the Meal Plan offers a great deal of flexibility, since you buy "purchasing power" rather than specific meals. Cafeteria menus have selections for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. The staff works closely with students who have special dietary needs or allergies. Sodexho also operates a deli-style sandwich shop in Hamilton Center. This facility offers snacks, beverages and some staple items. The food plan is administered in conjunction with the Housing contract for the academic year. Fall semester housing and food payments are due in full by Friday of the first week of classes.
Note: Fee includes 7% sales tax and 10% auxillary fee. 1 Payment deadline for Fall 2008: September 2, 2008. Late fees apply. Fall semester includes January Interterm. 2 Payment deadline for Spring 2009: February 6, 2009. Late fees apply. 3 Only students residing in B Dorms or apartment style housing are eligable for this plan. 4 Only students residing in an apartment style housing are elibible for this plan. 5 Students residing on campus are not eligible for the Commuter Plan. Termination of Meal PlanStudents may be
released from their housing contract for the following reasons only:
unavailability of space; withdrawal; academic termination; suspension
or expulsion.
Special consideration for release from meal plan obligations due to medical conditions must be directed in writing to the Director no later than 10 days after the beginning of the semester. A letter from a doctor or other healthcare professional verifying the medical condition must accompany each request for consideration. |
