Protect Yourself And Help Keep New College Safe
skip to the instructionsRecent tragedies at Northern Illinois University and Virginia Tech have reminded colleges around the country of the need to examine their emergency response systems and to evaluate methods and equipment they can use to ensure the safety and protection of students, faculty and staff on their campuses.
During the past twelve months, administration at New College has undertaken a thorough review of our own campus security and identified a number of enhancements the College can make to protect our most valuable resource -- the students, faculty, staff and their families who make up the New College community. Among these safety improvements is the purchase of a new emergency notification system, NCFSafe, from IntraPoint communications.
We need you to help us build and maintain our new NCFSafe database so that it has the most up-to-date contact information available for all students, faculty and staff.
Our new NCFSafe system enables the College to contact all members of the New College community simultaneously via email, analog and cellular telephone, and text messaging in the event of an emergency. But our system is only as effective as the contact database from which it operates.
Here is the information we need all students (and/or their parents), faculty and staff to provide:
- Cell phone - This should be the cell phone number where you can be reached during most hours of the day or night. If you do not have a cell phone, please provide an alternative number where you can be reached.
- Emergency contact name and phone number - For students, this should be the name and cell phone or land line phone number of your parent(s) or guardian. For faculty and staff, this should be the name and cell phone or land line phone number for your spouse, partner or other emergency contact.
- Non-NCF email address - If you have an email account on Yahoo, Gmail or some other system that you check more frequently than your NCF email, please let us know.
All information supplied to the NCFSafe database will be used for emergency purposes only and will not be shared with any outside vendors or with campus offices for correspondence unrelated to emergency notification.
Sign up is fast and easy
Click here to proceed to the NCFSafe Emergency Notification Sign Up. Log in with your New College NetID and fill out the form. Parents can fill out the form for students but will need the student's NCF login and password to access the site.
We hope you will take a few minutes right now to help us develop this powerful resource that will enable us to better protect you and the rest of our campus community.
