Professor Aarden teaches courses in music theory and history, electronic music composition, psychology of music, and the interfaces between computers and music. His interests are in exploring how perception, cognition, culture, and chance combine to create music, and how these same factors mediate the construction of meaning and emotion in music listening. Professor Aarden is a graduate of New College.
