Apply

Use the Common Application

The fastest and easiest way to submit your freshman application is to apply online using the Common Application.  Click on the button below for immediate access to the application.

You are welcome to print and fill out the Common Application for Transfer Students. It is not yet available online through Common Application website.

Other Ways to Apply

If you prefer not to use the Common Application, you may also download a New College Application from our website or call the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at (941) 487-5000 to receive an application via mail.

Application Checklist

The following is a quick reference checklist of items you need to submit in order to be considered for admission to New College:

$30 Non-refundable Application Fee: Submit as part of your Common Application, or enclose a check or money order (drawn on a US bank in US funds only and made payable to New College of Florida) with your completed New College Application Form. If you prefer, you may pay your application fee with a credit card.  For details, call (941) 487-5000.

Transcript(s): New College requires an official transcript sent from each secondary and post-secondary school you have attended. Failure to do so can result in denial of admission or your offer of admission being revoked.

If you completed high school by GED, an official transcript of your GED exam scores and official high school transcript are required.  Students earning the AA from a Florida public community college should inquire individually about the possibility of waiving the high school transcript requirement.

Electronic Submission of Transcript(s): New College is a SPEEDE institution. We also may be addressed by FASTER schools using Institution ID '10002' and Spex Inst ID '730000003957400'.

Standardized Test Results (SAT or ACT): New College requires either SAT or ACT scores to be submitted along with your application, although SAT subject exams are not required.  Official scores must be supplied in one of the following ways:

  • sent directly to our office by the testing service, or
  • reported on your official school transcript(s).
On the College Entrance Examination Board's request form, use program code #5506; on the American College Testing Program's request form, use ACT code #0750. For additional information on submitting your SAT or ACT scores, please visit the College Board (SAT) or ACT websites.

Students earning the AA from a Florida public community college should inquire individually about waiving the requirement for SAT or ACT scores.

Letter of Recommendation: New College requires one letter of recommendation from either a guidance counselor, college advisor, principal, dean or teacher who has taught you in an academic subject within the past two years at your school.  For this letter, you need either to use the official New College Recommendation Form (recommended) or the form supplied along with the Common Application.
